The situation today
What goes wrong today
Each system holds a fragment. The ERP has the SKU, the price and the stock. The PIM has attributes and descriptions. Media sits in a DAM or a shared folder. The supplier owns the technical specification. Marketing writes the commercial content. The marketplace imposes its own fields on top. Nobody holds the whole record, so everyone rebuilds a private version of it in a spreadsheet, and the company argues about which one is right.
The mechanism
How it runs in Fuse
You decide which source field feeds each field of the golden record, and how merge treats a steward edit against a newer source value. On re-import, merge runs before validation: locked fields and steward decisions survive, and contradictions are flagged instead of overwritten. Every field carries its origin, the transformation applied to it and its validation status. Changes are kept in history. Validated fields are then distributed to the systems that need them.
